Epicure's "Best of the Amalfi Coast"

While most gelaterias in the Amalfi towns cannot even come close to the gelaterias in Florence, this one can probably hold its own. Located on a busy street in the historic part of Sorrento, Bougainvillea offers dozens of varieties of freshly made gelatos each day. It has the best selection of any gelateria that we visited on the Amalfi Coast. We tried the pistachio and tiramisu gelatos, both of which were excellent. The texture of the gelatos was creamy and rich, but not too dense. The fruit sorbets looked wonderful - full of fruit chunks, but we were too full to sample them as well. Next time...
